An app designed to support refugees during the refugee crisis in 2015.
COwork is a service that lets asylum seekers apply for volunteer jobs or internships while waiting to finish their asylum process. Almost 90% of the asylum seekers in Norwegian asylum centers are not granted work permits. COwork can give refugees the opportunity to a more meaningful life, while they gain work experience and knowledge about Norwegian culture and society. By activating refugees through work, we can decrease the level of passivation and mental illnesses in asylums.

This project carried out during the refugee crisis in 2015 when the situation in Norwegian asylums were very pressing. The service was developed for and together with refugees as we spend several days at different asylums and had several rounds of iterations with both refugees and companies.

Designed by Selvi Olgac, Robin Vinje and Ingvild Kalsnes in 2015.
